Yesterday we covered comments Parma sporting director Daniele Faggiano made when he explained his club is being priced out of a deal for Aston Villa midfielder Birkir Bjarnason.
The Iceland international has been linked with the Serie B side in recent weeks, and the details of Aston Villa’s demands have been revealed in the Italian media.
TMW have reported Aston Villa want Parma to cover Bjarnason’s salary, which is said to be in the region of €2m.
It’s likely the English side will not back down from their demands, and subsequently ‘no discounts’ will be offered on the player.
This figure isn’t within Parma’s budget, and given the Italian club went bankrupt a few seasons ago they will not be able to finance such a deal.
It’s recently been claimed Bjarnason would like a return to Italy, but with Serie A side Torino also pulling out of the race for the 29 year old it seems likely he will remain with Aston Villa.
