As the only club in Italy capable of affording the biggest names around Europe, it’s no surprise to see Juventus linked with the likes of Mesut Özil, especially when a free transfer is on the line.

The Arsenal attacking midfielder is out of contract in June, and that obviously means the Serie A champions would be linked, having successfully brought in the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba and Dani Alves for nothing in the past.

However, there’s nothing new in there regarding Özil, yet he isn’t the only player they are looking at to fill a creative void in Max Allegri’s side, with Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen also on the list.

The Denmark international has a lot going for him, attracting interest from various big clubs in the past like Barcelona, and Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday believe Juventus have joined the queue for a transfer that would cost them somewhere around €60-70m.

Now that you’ve stopped laughing at that low valuation, the Italian newspaper explain the only way this could happen is if they manage to pull off a big sale, with Alex Sandro (calm down Chelsea fans) used as an example.

We’ll have to see if this becomes a recurring thing, as it’s not unlike Corriere and co. to make such big claims, only to forget about them for four months before coming back with a new big article stating “as we revealed back in January”.

You know, to fill column inches.
