There’s a claim in the French media that Newcastle United have ‘multiplied contacts’ with regards to signing Toulouse defender Christopher Jullien.
With just three days of the transfer remaining in the Premier League, Newcastle United face a race against time to bring in new players, and it’s claimed Rafa Benitez has made it a defensive priority to sign the 25 year old.
L’Equipe today report on Newcastle United’s pursuit of Jullien as they look to get a deal sealed for the French defender.
It’s reported an offer is expected to arrive from the Premier League club before the deadline closes on Thursday.
It’s also reported the Magpies are still tracking Lyon’s Myziane Maolida, a striker, as Benitez looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season.
Jullien has been with Toulouse since 2016 and has played nearly 70 Ligue 1 games for the French club. The player is under contract until June 2021.
