Fanatik claim Sivasspor are close to signing Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet.
Last week we covered comments made by Sivasspor manager Samet Aybaba, who confirmed his interest in the player, saying: “They are talking with Robinho, they are talking with Saivet from England, they are talking with a few local players.”
After signing former Manchester City striker Robinho, the Turkish club have now switched their attention to Saivet, after reports the Senegalese midfielder is expected to leave St James’ Park before next week’s deadline.
It’s been reported Sivasspor president Mecnun Odyakmaz will now fly to England in the coming days, as he looks to seal a deal with Newcastle United.
Fanatik say Sivasspor are looking to complete a loan deal with Newcastle, but there’s been no reports of a right of redemption or a set amount to make the move permanent in the summer.
Saivet has only featured in one Premier League game this season, and it’s thought the midfielder wants to leave Newcastle United to get more playing time at another club.
The 27 year old has also been linked with a return to Ligue 1 with Montpellier.
