According to a claim in the Turkish media, Newcastle United have tabled a bid for Galatasaray midfielder Badou Ndiaye.
The Senegal international has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, and this week it’s been claimed Stoke City have also put a bid in for the player.
Aksam have today reported Newcastle United have stepped their pursuit of Ndiaye, and offered Galatasaray €18m. Rafael Benitez will be looking to strengthen his squad in this window, and after being linked with Ndiaye in the last window it seems Newcastle United are back in for the central midfielder.
However, it’s likely Newcastle United will have to increase their offer to €20m after reports yesterday Stoke City have had a €16m rejected by Galatasaray.
Stoke City have been tracking Nidaye throughout this transfer window and despite Galatasaray receiving a bid from the Premier League side they are holding out for €20m.
Nidiaye was signed for just €7.5m last summer, and subsequently the Turkish side could make a decent profit if Newcastle United or Stoke City are prepared to meet his valuation.
