Takvim claim Newcastle United will send a scout to the Istanbul derby between Galatasaray and Besiktas next weekend, with the objective to watch Garry Rodrigues.
The Cape Verde international has been linked with a move to Newcaslte United in recent months.
The Turkish media outlet report Newcastle United had a scout at Galatasaray’s win against Basaksehir last weekend and will watch him again next Sunday.
German outfit Schalke are also reportedly following Rodrigues, but Takvim claim Newcastle United’s interest is more concrete, and that the Premier League side will table a bid when the transfer window opens.
Last summer the Magpies’ bid of €6m was rejected and even though they increased this to €8m in January it still wasn’t enough to persuade Galatasaray to sell.
Newcastle United can also expect to face competition from West Ham United and Everton.
