Newcastle United have emerged as a new contender for French youngster Isaak Touré.
The 19-year-old came through the ranks of Le Havre’s youth system before he made his way into their first team in August 2020. A month before that, he signed his first professional contract with the club, and that deal runs until 2023.
Operating mainly as a centre-back, he made 17 appearances in Ligue 2 in the recently concluded season. His performances for Le Havre have attracted interest from abroad, including from Newcastle United.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who explain that Eddie Howe’s side are ‘ready to make an offer’ of €9m to secure the France U19 international’s services this summer.
Apart from Newcastle United, the defender is in the sights of Marseille. They view him as a potential successor to William Saliba, on loan from Arsenal, if he were to not return to the Ligue 1 side. These two players are managed by the same agent.
Foot Mercato further explain that Touré would like his future to be sorted out before the UEFA European Under-19 Championship kicks off in Spain on June 18th.
