Sporx claim Fenerbahce have reached an agreement with Newcastle United over a loan deal for Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Recently it was reported Fenerbahce have turned their attention to Mitrovic after becoming frustrated with their efforts to sign Bas Dost from Sporting.
According to Sporx, Newcastle United are lining up West Bromwich Albion’s Solomon Rondon as a replacement for Mitrovic, with Fenerbahce closing in on the Serbian.
The Turkish club will reportedly continue to hold talks with the Newcastle United player’s agent with regards to personal terms.
Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli spoke to the press yesterday and stated they are in talks to bring a striker as they prepare for the Champions League qualifiers.
These latest developments, if true, would come as a blow to Fulham, who are also in the race to sign Mitrovic this summer. The Serbia international had a successful loan spell with the London club last season, helping them to the Premier League.
But why would Newcastle accept a loan deal if Fulham are offering a permanent transfer? And why would Mitrovic choose Fenerbahce when he had such a good period with Fulham?
It’s all very curious, and that brings doubt with it.
