Turkish newspaper Aksam claim Newcastle United are ready to offer £20m to Besiktas to sign Cenk Tosun.

Initial reports in Turkey said Newcastle United would be tabling a bid in the region of €20m.

Aksam claim Newcastle United officials are now considering flying in to Istanbul for further talks with regards to Tosun, and they believe a bid of £20m could be enough to secure the Turkish international.

Despite Besiktas’ unwillingness to sell Tosun midway through the season, an offer in this region could change their stance, especially with the club’s president Fikret Orman.

Besiktas are already looking for potential replacements if Tosun leaves the club, and Aksam say Andre Pierre Gignac is still a leading candidate.

There have been recent claims Newcastle United have already opened talks with Tosun’s agent, after he travelled to England. The Magpies were reported to be at Besiktas’ game against FC Porto this week, and it seems a bid is imminent from the English side.
