According to a claim in the Turkish media, Everton are to step up their pursuit of Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.
The Turkey international has been linked with the Premier League club in recent weeks.
Fanatik report Everton are preparing contract offers for Ozyakup, and are willing to meet the player’s demands. The former Arsenal player is looking for a salary in the region of €2.5m a season.
It’s claimed Everton have accelerated their efforts to sign Ozyakup on a free transfer after Besiktas failed to extend the 25 year old’s contract.
Earlier this month we covered reports from Turkey that Everton have been in talks with Ozkakup’s agent with regards to a move to Goddison Park in the summer. There have been claims the central midfielder is keen for a move back to England.
Everton could still face competition from fellow Premier League sides Newcastle United and West Ham United.
