Aspor have reported on Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup being whistled by his own fans during the game against Yeni Malatyaspor on Sunday.

The 25 year old still hasn’t committed himself to the Turkish champions, and there have been claims the player has been in recent talks with Everton.

Ozyakup will become a free agent this summer when his contract expires with Besiktas and it seems his own fans aren’t happy about the situation. The Turkey international has been key in Besiktas’ back to back titles, but this season he’s struggled for form.

Again Ozyakup didn’t play to his usual standards in the game against Yeni Malatyaspor, and subsequently was whistled off by his own fans when substituted in the 66th minute. The former Arsenal player has yet to score and has provided just three assists this season for his club.

These latest developments will only give Everton hope of signing Ozyakup this summer.

Earlier this month we covered reports from the Turkish media that Everton are in talks with Ozyakup’s agent Kees Vos with regards to signing the central midfielder in the summer.

It was claimed discussions are progressing and that the player could be nearing a move to Goodison Park. Vos also confirmed Everton are showing an interest in his client.
