With Salernitana on the verge of relegation, the Italian media claims that the club are already thinking about their rebuild for the next season, with them getting prepared to sell many of their assets in the summer.
One of those players who should leave is Lorenzo Piola, a promising 22-year-old defender, and it seems Newcastle United are interested in him.
That’s today reported by newspaper Corriere Dello Sport, who highlights what a ‘real jewel’ the centre-back is, with Salernitana preparing to make a big sale with him.
It’s first recalled that Newcastle had already been interested in Piola back in December, and with the whole relegation scenario, the Magpies should find a much easier situation to sign him.
Salernitana are said to value the defender at €30m. That includes the 15% they’ll have to pay his former club Inter Milan, due to their agreement from his move last year.
In reality, the Magpies can almost certainly get a much better deal than that.
There are bargains to be had at Salernitana!
