Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion are part of a one man transfer ‘blockade’, according to Sunday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Both Premier League sides are among a number of clubs to have been snubbed by Stevan Jovetic, who is currently refusing all-comers.
Brighton were said to have had a €16m offer for Jovetic accepted in principle by Inter Milan, but the attacker turned his nose up at the chance.
Rafael Benitez has been insisting on signing Jovetic before the window closes, but Newcastle United have faced similar problems to Brighton, with the player himself just not keen on returning to the Premier League.
It’s not just English clubs Jovetic is snubbing, Gazzetta say he’s refused three Turkish clubs and Spartak Moscow.
Inter Milan look kindly towards a sale, mainly so they can spend the money elsewhere, so there could be developments before the window closes.
But if Jovetic outright refuses to move anywhere, there’s not an awful lot the Italian club can do.
