Florian Thauvin is facing an uncertain future at Newcastle. The Frenchman doesn’t want to play for the Championship side, and wants to go back to Marseille.

Marseille, however, haven’t presented Newcastle an acceptable offer yet, whilst Serie A club Lazio are also reportedly interested in Thauvin.

In fact, Lazio have agreed a loan deal, with a mandatory clause to then buy Thuavin for €10m, reports Italian newspaper Il Tempo on Sunday.

Igli Tare, Lazio’s sporting director, has been following Thauvin for two years, and feels he could be the right player for the Rome club.

Il Tempo say Thauvin should arrive in Roma by Friday. Thauvin’s transfer to Lazio will be confirmed as soon as Candreva completes his move to Inter.

The 23-year-old spent the last six months on loan at his former club Marseille, after signing for Newcastle last summer summer in a €18m deal.

There’s every chance this one could see another twist.
