Italian international Matteo Darmian signed for Manchester United from Torino in a €18m deal last summer.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a great start to his career at Old Trafford, but a series of average performances, and injury issues, meant he wasn’t able to keep things up.

Reports in the media suggest a few players could be leaving Manchester United this season after the arrival of Jose Mourinho, and Darmian could well be on the exit list.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday, AS Roma are interested in signing Darmian on loan.

AS Roma are looking to sign a defender, and Gazzetta say Darmian would be a ‘dream transfer’ for the Serie A club.

It is reported Darmian’s versatility is the reason why AS Roma want to sign him.

There doesn’t appear to be anything concrete in this yet, and we’re not really sure if Manchester United would be tempted by a loan offer.
