Earlier this year, Sport stated Newcastle United had made an important offer for Raphinha last year.
Fast forward to July and recent reports in the English press have talked about Newcastle’s desire to sign the Barcelona player this summer.
This is relayed by Mundo Deportivo, who then provide their own information on how Eddie Howe’s side can secure the winger’s services.
The Brazil international hasn’t fully convinced Barca since joining them from Leeds United in 2022. In addition to this, Lamine Yamal, who has impressed for Spain at the Euros, will be ahead of the 27-year-old at the Camp Nou next season.
Raphinha represented Brazil at the Copa América, and is currently on vacation. He’s set to join the pre-season training in the coming weeks, while the Catalan club are waiting to see if there will be any movements around his future in the next few days.
Newcastle will have to spend big if they want to sign Raphinha because Mundo say Barca will not let him leave for less than €90m.
Despite wanting to take advantage of his situation at the Camp Nou, the price could make a possible deal difficult for the Magpies to sign him.
That said, it feels like an overly ambitious claim and it’s near certain Barcelona would accept a lot less.
