Newcastle United target Serhou Guirassy continues to be the subject of ‘numerous enquiries’ this month, despite his release clause having expired.
That’s according to Sky Germany, who say a move is unlikely this month but he remains a man to keep an eye on moving forwards.
Guirassy has been heavily linked with a move away from VfB Stuttgart for months after shining in the first half of the season, with 19 goals and two assists in 16 games in all competitions so far.
Newcastle have long been in the mix for him, with numerous reports in Germany making it clear they were eyeing a move as he was available for a bargain price this month.
According to them there have been ‘numerous’ contacts with various clubs from Italy, England and Spain, who are all ‘after’ the striker.
A move didn’t come off this month as Guirassy feels comfortable where he is and still has big goals for the remainder of the season, so has ‘blocked all enquiries’ so far. Whether one of them is from Newcastle isn’t made clear.
They were extensively linked over the last few months, though, and a report at the end of December made it clear they’d come knocking.
A move is off until the summer, though, with the ‘strong trend’ at the German club that he’ll be remaining where he is in the January transfer window until the summer.
