While Newcastle United are struggling with injuries, they did manage to get Alexander Isak back in time for the games against Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Swedish striker found the back of the net in the 4-1 win over the Blues, and will now have set his sights on the French club, whom Eddie Howe’s side beat 4-0 in their first Champions League encounter.

A repeat of that performance would be a dream come true for Newcastle, and Fotbollskanalen columnist Siavoush Fallahi is calling on Isak to step up and help his team pull off another unexpected result.

The 24-year-old, despite finding the back of the net every 83 minutes he has played in the Premier League this season, has yet to score in the Champions League.

As Newcastle face perhaps ‘their toughest challenge’ at the Parc des Princes, Fallahi knows it would be ‘tough to demand a goal’ from Isak in the game, but this is exactly why he needs to find a way.

He states that these are the ‘types of games that make a difference for a player’, as they can help him progress his career.

If Isak wants to be among the ‘world’s best offensive players’, then scoring in such a game could ‘make the difference for his reputation’.

Newcastle still have a chance of qualifying if they can somehow beat Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan, but those are two very tough games.

That’s why Isak needs to do something that he hasn’t ‘done so far’, which is find the back of the net in the Champions League.
