While there’s no doubt that Newcastle United will be focusing their attention on signing players Eddie Howe can work with now at St James’ Park, the Magpies will also be thinking about the future.
Their attempts in January to sign Hugo Ekitike were testament to that, and it appears they have now turned their attention to a centre-back.
His name is Isaak Touré, currently at Le Havre in France, who are known for their ability to produce some great talent, such as Paul Pogba and Steve Mandanda to name but a couple.
Marseille were said to be close to signing the towering centre-back, who stands at 2,04m at the age of 19, but Newcastle are looking to scupper that.
Foot Mercato in France have a short but to the point article on the matter on Wednesday, claiming the Premier League side are ‘ready to make a €9m offer to sign him’.
It’s not said what Touré’s preference would be at this stage, but what he does know is that he ‘wants his future sealed before June 18th’, which is when the U19 Euros will start, where he will represent France.
Thus, Newcastle need to make their move and get him to sign on the dotted line before then.
