Earlier on Thursday, it was reported by journalist Sacha Tavolieri that Newcastle had sent a delegation to the south of France in order to get a deal for Allan Saint-Maximin over the line.
It was believed there wasn’t a lot left to do, with just commissions to sort out on an €18m + bonuses deal that would see the France U21 international head to St James’ Park.
Well, a few hours later, it appears those talks were very useful since Loic Tanzi, who works for RMC Sport, is reporting that a deal has been reached between all parties and Saint-Maximin will be a Newcastle player.
The deal is in fact an €18m up front offer with ‘quite a few bonuses’ on top to make the deal more enticing for Nice.
The winger is expected to sign a six-year deal with the Premier League club, where he will team up with new record signing Joelinton to play under Steve Bruce, as the Magpies continue to revamp their attack following the exits of Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon.
