Among the handful of Premier League sides who have been linked to Juventus defender Radu Dragusin this year, it’s Newcastle United who continue to be mentioned in the chase for the 19-year-old.
The Magpies are named today in a story from Calciomercato.it, who bring an update on the player’s situation with the Old Lady.
They say that contrary to rumours about an agreement for his new contract, Dragusin’s entourage is still negotiating a renewal with the Italian giants.
The talks are said to be on hold as the player wants to know more about the ‘technical project’ the club have for him, which in other words, probably means if he’s getting more playing time or not.
The defender’s contract with Juventus expires at the end of the season, and that’s why there’s a rush for the renewal.
Otherwise, Newcastle or other competitors will soon be able to sign him for free.
The website recalls that Dragusin has been linked to the likes of the Magpies, RB Leipzig and Atalanta, calling them ‘external threats’ which ‘exist and are pressing’ the situation.
