Newcastle United star Alexander Isak has been on Barcelona’s agenda for a while, with the Spanish media reporting this agin last month.
The striker continues to be a target for Barca and El Chiringuito took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest.
Journalist Jose Alvarez Haya covers the La Liga club wanting the Newcastle player in the summer window.
He claims the Catalan club have already started planning to reshape their squad for next season. They have identified the 25-year-old as the ‘main goal’ to improve their attack.
Isak has impressed for the Magpies this season and has managed 19 goals and five assists from 28 games.
The Sweden international has a contract lasting until 2028 and Jose Alvarez Haya states his valuation is around €75m. He adds Barcelona, who love the frontman, approached him and the ‘feeling is positive’ from these contacts.
Barcelona have to negotiate with Newcastle and that may be the most difficult task for them.
The journalist may have taken the €75m figure from Transfermarkt. Eddie Howe’s side are unlikely to let him leave for that figure, especially considering claims from the UK said they have set a €180m asking price.
