As Spanish newspaper ABC today features a piece about Sevilla’s defensive duo and the good season that Jules Koundé and Diego Carlos have been having, there’s an obvious mention on their potential departures this summer.

Speaking of the Brazilian centre-back, it’s impossible not to link him to Newcastle United, who were already keen on signing him in January and could now return for him in the coming months.

ABC recalls that Sevilla director Monchi publicly spoke about the Magpies’ attempt to sign Diego Carlos in the winter window, with the offer of €30m not being enough to convince the La Liga side.

Now it’s said that many clubs are expected to go for his transfer in the summer, including Newcastle, who ‘did not forget’ about the 29-year-old.

ABC writes that following Newcastle’s recent wins in the Premier League, they can now confirm their ‘mega-project’ for the coming seasons.

‘They will not skimp on energetic investments in reinforcements to aspire to everything’, the outlet claims.

For now, the story doesn’t say how much Sevilla will demand to sell Diego Carlos in the summer. That shall depend on the competition from the clubs who will fight the Magpies to sign the Brazilian.
