On May 21st, AS reported Giorgi Mamardashvili ‘will have no choice’ but to join Newcastle United, if Valencia were to accept their offer.
Three days later, journalist Nacho Sanchis stated the Magpies are ready to offer €25m, which is €10m short of the Spanish club’s request.

This is relayed by El Desmarque, who then state Newcastle are ‘still the most interested team’ to sign the 23-year-old. They add it would cost around €40m to take him away from Los Ches.
El Desmarque say Valencia are only willing to sell him if there’s an acceptable offer, otherwise he will continue at the club.
AS also discuss Newcastle’s interest in the Georgia international, who is open to staying at Mestalla next season. It’s claimed the Magpies are the ‘most interested team’, and the Spanish club need at least €35m to hold talks for his transfer.
If the stopper were to leave, it’s stated he wants to join a club that can offer him European football. That won’t be possible at Newcastle next season after Manchester United secured a berth in the Europa League following their FA Cup success.
