Newcastle United are said to have ‘increased the pressure’ in their pursuit for Roma winger Carles Perez, according to the latest claims from Italy.
Calciomercato report the Magpies have been following the 23-year-old for a while, and now intensified their chase in the past few days.
It’s said that following the signing of Joe Willock from Arsenal, Newcastle then ‘knocked on Roma’s door’ to make a ‘low cost attempt’.
The Gialorossi are said to be in need of making sales, and now evaluate the possibility of his departure.
They could even be open to the possibility of a loan with an option or an obligatory clause for a purchase.
Calciomercato says Newcastle have been following Perez ‘with attention’ for over a year, and already had a shot last summer.
With Roma needing some money in the bank, they’re likely to make a sale easier to achieve without gifting him entirely.
The chances of a move could also get a boost from the player himself, as he may not have many minutes under José Mourinho and can choose to ‘change airs’.
