The information comes today from Italian outlet Area Napoli, who claim that the Magpies are one of the clubs who’ve been in touch for his signing.
Even though there’s no news about a bid from Steve Bruce’s side, there are good reasons to believe that a deal is possible.
That’s because the same story claims that West Brom made an offer of €25m for the player, and the problem is that Everton doesn’t want to join the Baggies, as he wants a club with bigger aspirations, as would be the case of Newcastle.
Not long ago, it used to be claimed in Brazil that Everton would cost over €40m. But if Grêmio really liked the €25m offer from the Baggies, it sounds like it’s all it would take to sign the winger now.
