Newcastle United are edging closer towards completing a deal for AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali and this has been widely covered in the Italian media over the past two days.
The Magpies want to ‘continue shopping’ in Serie A and have identified Milan star Theo Hernandez and Juventus’ Federico Chiesa as their ‘new goals’.
That’s according to Sky Italia, who state Newcastle have ‘requested information’ about the left-back and the winger.
It’s claimed Eddie Howe’s side are aware it’s going to be difficult for them to sign the 25-year-old Frenchman.
Hernandez, who is also wanted by Atlético Madrid, has a deal until 2026 and the report states the Rossoneri want more than €80m for him. They even suggest his asking price could start from €100m.
Newcastle have also contacted Juventus to ask about the Italy international as they are ‘very interested’ in the 25-year-old. Apart from the Tyneside club, Aston Villa are also said to be in the mix to sign Chiesa.
