Newcastle United are interested in Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson, according to reports.
The information comes from TuttoMercatoWeb, who claims the Magpies have been following the 26-year-old ‘for some time’.
The outlet calls Ryerson one of the ‘most interesting full-backs’ in the Bundesliga, claiming his performances there haven’t gone unnoticed.
Premier League sides are said to be ‘constantly’ monitoring him, with Newcastle being those who have eyes on his potential for a while now.
The report makes it clear there’s ‘nothing concrete’ coming from the Magpies for a transfer so far, although this is obviously a rumour to be followed in the coming months.
Newcastle have already been able to see Ryerson in action against them this season. He missed the first Champions League clash between the two clubs due to illness, but was a starter in Dortmund’s 2-0 win at the Signal Iduna Park.
The yellow and black side only spent €5m to sign him from Union Berlin back in January. He’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €15m, and the Premier League sides’ interest should only make his price go up.
