Newcastle United continue to be named as one of the potential destinations for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.
This time the report comes from Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger, who says the Magpies are one of the clubs who are interested in signing the 22-year-old this summer.
Aware of the attention Diaby has been drawing, it’s said Bayer Lekeverkusen have now set a price tag of €60m for the player, who has no release clause in his contract.
Newcastle aren’t the only club trying to take him to the Premier League, as the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are said to be chasing the winger as well.
We’ve recently seen claims from France dating back to January that Newcastle were interested, and the price tag then was €80m.
Then L’Equipe came along and hinted the fee could be as high as €100m, but this latest update suggests Leverkusen might not be as demanding as first thought.
However, with the competition only growing, it might be important for Newcastle to have early talks ahead of any summer move and try to get the signing done as quickly and cheaply as possible.
