It seems that not only the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in the signing of Ciro Immobile from Lazio.
Italian outlet Calciomercato.it brings a story today saying Newcastle United could compete for the 30-year-old as well.
They claim that the Magpies have been following the striker’s situation ‘carefully’, and may really make a move for the signing.
A transfer to St James’ Park would depend on the club’s successful takeover, which would obviously have a huge impact on their plans for the transfer window.
But Calciomercato.it makes it clear that this wouldn’t be an easy signing for Newcastle, and not only because the striker has been linked to Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United.
It’s claimed that the 30-year-old would like to stay at Lazio, just as the club plan to keep him for longer ahead of next season’s likely Champions League campaign.
Immobile has 29 goals in Serie A this season. The report doesn’t say how much would Lazio demand in case of a transfer, although Transfermarkt currently rate him at €40m.
