Following reports from the English media this week claiming Chelsea may be interested in the signing of Neymar from Paris Saint Germain, we now get to see an interesting report from ESPN Brasil regarding their national team star.
Premier League correspondent João Castelo-Branco now shares the information that the pursuit is seen as ‘speculation’ within the Blues, since the signing was just a ‘frustrated dream’ of Roman Abramovich when the player was still at Santos.
But it turns out that, according to ESPN Brasil, there’s another Premier League club who would like to sign Neymar this summer, and that’s Newcastle United.
Castelo-Branco claims that following the Saudi Arabian takeover, Newcastle are expected to be more ‘aggressive’ in the market and look for a signing ‘to make noise’, and that’s where the PSG star fits in.
Reports in England had already claimed that PSG are not very satisfied with Neymar, especially with his lifestyle, which is opposed to the ones of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, and that could lead to his exit this summer.
So ESPN Brasil now claims Newcastle seem a ‘more viable’ option for the Brazilian star, even though there’s no other information on their efforts to make the signing for now.
