On Wednesday, journalist Niccolò Ceccarini reported Newcastle United could come forward for Adrien Rabiot in the winter market, but it was thought unlikely the Magpies could convince the Juventus player.
Later that day, the midfielder expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.
Ceccarini appeared as a guest on Radio Bianconera, relayed by Tutto Juve, where he further stressed “Newcastle are certainly interested” in the 26-year-old and would like to “make an attempt” in the winter market.
The France international’s contract expires in June 2023 and the next window will be the Serie A side’s last chance to cash in from his sale.
Ceccarini claims the former PSG man’s future is “not certain at the moment”, while he’s of the belief the player would favour finishing the campaign at the Turin club.
Over at Calciomercato, they state ‘Newcastle are serious’ about signing the Frenchman. In order to convince Rabiot to join them in January, it’s said Eddie Howe’s side are ready to ‘make a super offer’.
Time will tell whether the Premier League club will be successful in signing Rabiot in the mid-season window.
