Newcastle United have been regularly named as a contender for Vasco da Gama’s Andrey Santos.
A month ago, we relayed news from Brazil the Magpies have held talks with his agent over a potential deal for the 18-year-old.
As well as Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are also looking at the midfielder.
Le10 Sport state the Ligue 1 winners don’t let go of Santos, who has starred for his club this season. His displays have seen him being dubbed the ‘new Bruno Guimaraes in Brazil’.
Several clubs are keen on the Brazil U20 international. The website says that five clubs have ‘already drawn an offer’ to sign Santos and those include Barca and Newcastle. PSG, for their part, have not moved yet.
PSG advisor Luis Campos has ‘already positioned himself’ with both the teenager’s agent and Vasco da Gama to signal the French club’s firm interest in Santos. They will be informed when the South American side open the door for his sale.
With Newcastle and other sides already making an offer for the ‘new Bruno Guimaraes’, Le10 state the possibility of him leaving Vasco da Gama in January is ‘significant’.
