According to report in the Italian media, West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini is to bring in former West Brom player Enzo Maresca as part of his coaching staff.
Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has reported Pellegrini wants Maresca to assist him at West Ham after being appointed Hammers boss today.
The Chilean has signed a three year contract with the Premier League side following the exit of David Moyes.
This season Marsca has been assistant coach to Vincenzo Montella at Sevilla. However, when Montella was sacked last month by Sevilla, Maresca was offered the chance to coach the Spanish side’s reserve team, but the opportunity to link up with his former manager seems to have proved too tempting.
Pellegrini worked with Maresca as a player when the former Manchester City manager was in charge of Malaga.
Maresca is also well accustomed to English football following his spell with West Bromwich Albion. The 38 year spent two seasons at the Hawthorns and played nearly 50 league games for West Brom.
Seville newspaper Estadio Deportivo also report their sources back the move up.
