PSG just won’t give up on Idrissa Gueye, or at least the French sport media won’t.
This time it’s the turn of Le10 Sport to dip their toe in, and they claim ‘new discussions’ were held ‘last night’ about the potential January transfer.
Claimed asking prices have been all the place in French newspapers in recent weeks, getting to an almost silly stage, especially with Everton being called ‘greedy’ on more than once occasion.
Le10 say the Toffees are looking for €40-45m to part ways with the midfielder in the winter market.
PSG don’t want to pay more than €30m, and even if they were keen to go above such a figure it would be a struggle given their battles with FFP.
Therefore it’s hard to see how any progress could be made, even if the claims of interest and meetings are true. Le10 feel there’s a possibility, otherwise they don’t think the Premier League club would have agreed to a meeting.
Maybe this could move to part exchange. Everton have been linked with several strikers, Edinson Cavani seems to be being edged out long term in Paris… send the cheek right back at them.
