Tottenham are ‘once again knocking’ on Bologna’s door for defender Takehiro Tomiyasu as they look to continue to add to their defence.
That’s according to Il Resto del Carlino, who say it is ‘clear’ that Tottenham don’t intend for Cristian Romero to be their only defensive addition this summer.
Fabio Paratici is keen to keep adding to the squad, and he will ‘always turn’ to the Italian market given his knowledge of it.
As such, he held ‘new contacts yesterday’ with Bologna over a move for Tomiyasu, who Spurs were pushing hard for earlier in the window.
The Italian side are willing to do a deal for around €25m, with it possible they will settle for a figure lower than that if it includes ‘performance bonuses’, which will eventually raise it up.
The newspaper explains that a recent defeat to Ternana in the cup has led Bologna to rethink their strategy between now and the end of the transfer window.
After that loss, Walter Sabatini admitted that they would reflect and listen to ‘really important offers’ for their players should they arrive.
Tottenham are now seemingly willing to make such a bid for Tomiyasu after Paratici renewed contacts with Bologna about a potential move.
