Yesterday ESPN reported Fenerbahçe boss Dick Advocaat was considering signing Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam.
The former Liverpool midfielder’s contract with Stoke City will expire in June when he will become a free agent. The Stoke City player is admired by Advocaat and the former Rangers boss believes he could be a good signing for the club.
Fenerbahçe are currently linked with a number of players, including Jose Sosa, Hernanes, Ganso, Mehmet Ekici and now Adam.
However, SabahSpor journalist Volkan Demir has today claimed Fenerbahçe’s pursuit for Adam is likely to fail, and the Turkish side have little chance signing the Stoke City midfielder. Wages will prove a factor in landing the player because of their issues with FFP.
Adam joined Stoke City from Liverpool in 2012, and has since gone on to play over 100 Premier League games for the club. The Scotland international has played 15 Premier League games for Stoke City this season, scoring 1 goal.
