Manchester United managed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted there could be more action from them at the end of the transfer window, although they’ve already done ‘very good’ business.
Manchester United have been busy strengthening this summer, with big money moves for Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane filling two big problems in the current squad.
They have also been heavily linked with a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, while there are those who have argued they should also be looking to add an elite level striker to their options.
Whether either deal happens remains to be seen but seems unlikely given their deals so far have seen them spend £112m and bring in zero the other way.
That would seemingly make any more big moves at the end of the window difficult, but the Manchester United boss is not ruling anything out.
“I do not think that much will happen,” he told Norway’s VG.
“If something happens, it’s a bonus, of course. There’s about a week left. You never know what’s going on in the football world.
“We have had a very good window. We have brought in two great football players. Raphaël will lift us a lot, and Jadon will only get better and better.
“We are happy with what we have done, and then we work in the field to become a better team.
“We need to get in better shape; there is no doubt about that. There are many who have played one and a half games. It’s not much. We are laying the foundation now; then it is a long season.”
Varane has yet to make his debut for Manchester United, while Sancho has featured for just 46 minutes as Solskjaer looks to ease him into the new team.
