Spanish side Real Oviedo now confirm their interest in the signing of Arsenal midfielder Marcelo Flores.
Their chase has been admitted by two club officials in distinct interviews.
It was first ESPN Mexico who managed to speak to president Martin Pelaez, where he claimed that the Gunners’ youngster actually attracts a lot of interest from many clubs.
“Any club, not from Mexico, from the world would like him. His name impresses and it is not easy. He can give any team his talent, he is very young, but very talented and you can see that he is a winner and must add talent and willingness,” said Pelaez.
ESPN Mexico also claimed to confirm with their own sources that there are only details left for Flores to be signed by Oviedo.
They claim Arsenal are letting him move on a loan deal, but with no option for a permanent transfer, since he’s still seen by the Gunners as one of their greatest prospects.
Another Oviedo official to confirm the chase was their sporting director Tito Blanco.
He gave a press conference on Wednesday to speak about the club’s transfer window, and confirmed that the deal is close.
“I base myself on the words of our president, we are in negotiations” (via El Desmarque).
Real Oviedo are now being handled by Grupo Pachuca, from Mexico, and with Marcelo Flores being one of the most exciting young players in the North American country, the Arsenal player was a clear suggestion from the new management.
