Anderlecht took Lukas Nmecha on loan from Manchester City in the last summer window after the forward failed to score a goal in his previous two loan spells at Vfl Wolfsburg and Middlesbrough.
The 22-year-old has impressed for Vincent Kompany’s side, scoring 13 goals in 28 league matches.
Last month, DeMorgen reported the Belgium club are keen to extend the Citizens owned player’s loan deal beyond this season.
Nmecha has also continued his fine form for Germany U21s, netting nine times in his last 10 matches.
The Manchester City attacker’s contract runs down in 2022, and it’s not clear if his form for Anderlecht and Germany U21s will be sufficient for him to make his way into Pep Guardiola’s plans next campaign.
“He found a very good club in Anderlecht, where he has stabilised and, above all, he played there regularly,” Kuntz told Sport1.
“He has one year left on his contract at Man City. He is waiting to see how the season goes and decide his future. He has of course established himself as a top striker in the U21s.”
Nmecha’s goalscoring record for Anderlecht and his country will not go unnoticed in the next window. Both the player and Manchester City will have a decision to take come end of this season.
