For a 26-year-old, Ciro Immobile has already had a fairly nomadic career.
Playing for 10 different clubs (11 if you count Juventus’ reserves), the Lazio striker is enjoying life back in Italy, scoring nine goals in 11 league appearances so far following his transfer from Sevilla.
Facing Napoli this weekend in what might be a decisive Serie A clash come the end of the season, the Lazio star was interviewed by Il Mattino and asked about the two managers, both linked with a move to the Naples contingent in the past.
He said: “The German is emotional, he lives in the atmosphere, he puts his heart into everything: at Napoli, he would have been an idol. The Spaniard was more tactical, he explained the games through video.
“With Klopp, the biggest regret was not having a direct relationship, because of the language we always talked through an interpreter.”
Emotional? Heart on his sleeve? That doesn’t sound like Klopp at all…
Compared to his spells at Pescara, Torino or even Lazio, Immobile’s time under both Klopp and Emery weren’t the best, totally 10 goals in 34 appearances in Germany and four in 15 in Spain.
With time still on his side, perhaps one last experience abroad could be on the cards? The Premier League, perhaps?
