Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri’s situation at Sevilla continues to court attention in Spain, with yet another ‘mystery’ adding to an already odd set of events.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who cover the player today and the latest ‘mystery’ after Hannibal was spotted holding a ‘long conversation’ with manager Quique Sanchez Flores.

Estadio explain that Sevilla host Real Sociedad on Saturday and the starting XI could include a ‘great novelty’ that would have been ‘completely unthinkable’ until very recently.

That is the inclusion of Manchester United loanee Hannibal Mejbri, who has been completely out of the picture since arriving in the January transfer window.

They explain that ‘clues offered’ in the recent training sessions, in which Hannibal was spotted having a ‘long conversation’ with his manager indicate he could be give his first opportunity to impress at the weekend.

A path to the first team has been opened up by the absence of Djibril Sow, who is suspended for the game.

The Manchester United man would not have been thought of as an alternative if it had not been for the fact that yesterday’s and today’s training sessions saw Quique Sanchez Flores make it clear that he was ‘considering this possibility.’

He was spotted having a long conversation with the player on Wednesday alongside Boubakary Soumare and then went one step further by including him in a reduced working group of 13 players plus the goalkeepers.

It appears Hannibal is fighting with Suso for a place in the team, although that ‘mystery’ won’t be solved until the last minute.
