Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic has said his dream is to play for Manchester United in the future, and he isn’t afraid to share that goal.
Calcio Lecce cover comments from the striker today on a broadcast for TeleRoma, in which he shared his appreciation for the Red Devils.
Krstovic joined the Italian side in a €3.9m deal last summer from Dunajska Streda and has nine goals and two assists in 41 games to date.
It’s the first step into a top five European league for the 24-year-old, who started in Montenego with Golubovac U19’s before joining the likes of Red Star, Graficar and Dunajska Strada before his eventual move to Lecce.
He’s yet to really start shining in Italy but did impress at his previous clubs, bagging 37 goals and eight assists in 66 games for Dunajska Strada and 41 goals and one assists in 96 games for Golubovac.
This season could be the breakthrough one, with two goals for his club and an assist for Montenegro in the recent match against Wales.
Like all players, it seems his eyes are already on a potential move higher up in the future and if he had his choice, it would be Manchester United calling him.
“After the match against Torino he (Mirko Vucinic) told me ‘think about the next one’. Where would I never play? In Bari. My dream is Manchester United,” he admitted.
“It’s only the second year here in Lecce. I am very happy, both me and my family. We have friends and we’re enjoying it, so let’s think about the present.”
