At the end of last week, we covered claims from Argentina that Ramón Sosa has been refusing to train with CA Talleres, after they publicly confirmed they’d ended negotiations with Nottingham Forest.
The exciting winger wasn’t with the squad to face Barracas Central on Friday and has refused to play in the key clash against River Plate next week.
Nottingham Forest verbally agreed a deal before allegedly changing everything, which didn’t please the Argentine club.
TyC Sports say the 24-year-old could still leave for Nottingham Forest or another club this summer. They add if a transfer hasn’t been arranged yet, it’s likely to take place in the next few days.
The outlet says it would have been logical for the Paraguay international to train with the rest of the squad after his club pulled the plug on a move to Nottingham Forest. However, he has decided not to train, to avoid risking an injury.
On Thursday [UK time], Talleres will face River Plate in the Copa Libertadores and it’s not clear whether Sosa will be available for this key clash.
The option to join the Reds or another club is still alive. Taking this into account, there are doubts whether Sosa can be fully committed to Talleres, if he were to feature against River Plate.
At this moment in time, TyC Sport say the ‘outlook is discouraging’, and Sosa and his club would want to resolve the situation as soon as possible. It remains to be seen whether the Premier League side will make another attempt to sign him in this window.
