Manchester United and Chelsea are both said to be in the big battle for Marco Verratti from PSG.
Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport has an article today describing Juventus’ desire to have the player soon, as the club president Beppe Marotta dreams of bringing the player back to his home country.
They claim that the midfielder could already have ended up at Man United during the past summer, when José Mourinho and his former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic have both signed for the club.
Verratti could be the long term replacement for Michael Carrick that Manchester United dearly need.
In Chelsea’s case, they say that the Blues have already asked for the price and are now aware of how much Verratti would cost for Roman Abramovich.
Most of the rumours have been happening because the player’s relationship with the PSG manager Unay Emery would not be good. That was paper talk, and even though Verratti has denied that, Corriere still thinks it’s a sign he could be leaving the club soon.
The information they have on Manchester United’s and Chelsea’s interest isn’t very convincing either, so maybe we should just wait for something from France to show up and confirm this.
