Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice for Manchester United against Swansea City, after a period in which missing chances became more regular than scoring them for the former Sweden international.

Whilst it’s a boost to Ibrahimovic and Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side, it doesn’t quite rebuff all the doubts that have been put forward about the striker. The Premier League is very different indeed to Ligue 1, and it’s unlikely Ibrahimovic will have the same impact.

French newspaper L’Equipe have a feature on Ibrahimovic in their Wednesday edition, ahead of France playing Sweden this week, and pundit Éric Di Meco is quoted talking about the Manchester United player.

Screen Shot 2016-11-09 at 08.17.42Di Meco explains: “I feel that he’s exceeded by the speed game and physical commitment. Sometimes he wanders like a lost soul. In England, everything changes.

“In Ligue 1, it’s terrible, he looked like an adult playing against children, while in the Premier League, he confronts men… I’m worried about him!”

It’s almost certainly correct to say Ibrahimovic won’t do for Manchester United what he did for PSG, but then even something approaching that would be acceptable, and Mourinho will be confident, especially after the brace, that his striker will get there.
