Hurrah!
There’s been a small update in the Alvaro Morata to Manchester United saga.
Spanish newspaper AS have pictured both the player’s agent Juanma Lopez, and his father, Alfosno Morata, leaving Real Madrid’s offices at the Bernabeu.
That’s perhaps significant, when Morata himself was supposed to have made the trip last week, taking a break from his honeymoon, there were no pictures of the striker either entering or leaving Madrid’s offices.
Or at the airport, or in a car, or any evidence whatsoever… you get the drift.
AS are pretty sure that Morata Sr and Lopez were at the Bernabeu to talk about the player’s Manchester United transfer, explaining everything is already agreed apart from the transfer fee. They were inside the offices for 50 minutes.
And that, as well as being an update, is also a step back to where the situation has now been for weeks. AS say Real Madrid want more than €80m, but Manchester United don’t want to pay so much.
Unless the double act arrived with a new Manchester United offer, or were armed with the best puppy dog eyes in Spain, the situation remains the same: Jose Mourinho’s side are going to have to offer more than they have, and Madrid will likely have to come down a little.
