Harry Maguire is going through a reasonable spell at Manchester United, being one of the club’s better players in recent weeks.
He’s been fortunate after injuries to other defenders, but when given the chance by Erik ten Hag has managed to do a job despite the huge pressure on him.
During the summer window there were repeat transfer rumours, as it looked like Manchester United were very much open to a sale.
Maguire himself didn’t seem so keen, perhaps given assurances from Gareth Southgate about his standing remaining high within the England set-up.
West Ham claims didn’t come to anything in the end, and Maguire is a used and useful part of Ten Hag’s squad this season.
That offer, put at €30m, would come next summer, and this is presented as fresh information from J Mania.
We’d point out several things.
Firstly, it’s unlikely Juventus would offer €30m for a permanent transfer without trying a loan move first.
Indeed, even if they wanted a full purchase, the likelier way for that to happen would be a loan with buying obligation.
In addition, the tax advantages from Italy’s Growth Decree scheme are being removed, so it’s very unlikely Juventus would get anywhere near Maguire’s wage level.
Starting to spread around Italy, but not a very convincing story.
