Sevilla’s well known sporting director Monchi is set to fly to England, report Estadio Deportivo.
The local Seville sports newspaper says Monchi is travelling to the country for transfer talks with Newcastle United.
Estadio suggest the trip is primarily to talk to the Premier League club about Florian Lejeune.
Sevilla have been interested in the player for some time, and it’s claimed they tried to sign the 28 year old in each of the past two summer transfer windows.
Ayoze Perez is also on the agenda, although the report doesn’t sound confident on that front. Strangely, they state the 25 year old wants to stay in the Premier League, despite him repeatedly telling the Spanish media he’d quite like a move to La Liga.
It’s believed Newcastle value Perez at €30m, which would likely be too high for Sevilla to decide to sign him.
Monchi has a record for getting players at good prices, and that perhaps doesn’t fit so well with Newcastle trying to get as much as they can out of any deal.
