After many months linking Sporting midfielder João Palhinha with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Portuguese press starts sounding like this saga will come to an end soon.
This can be felt in commentary from Jornal de Notícias today, who are expecting the 26-year-old to leave the Lisbon side this summer.
The outlet writes there are some issues at Sporting which could be sorted ‘in the coming weeks’. And when speaking of Palhinha, they claim Wolves are offering €24m for his move.
With local reports many times saying the Lions would demand €25m for the transfer, it seems the figures are now getting pretty close for a potential deal.
The information on Palhinha is made in a story that is mostly about a player who featured for Wolves this season, Francisco Trincão.
Sporting are working hard to get him signed this summer, and are currently negotiating a loan with Barcelona.
Not having impressed for the Molineux side, the player returned to the Camp Nou and now looks for a new club. According to reports from Portugal, he’s keen on taking a pay cut to play for the Lions next season.
